This weekend the Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (OT-13) is superseded by the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles.


The Communion Antiphon (Graduale Romanum Chant Proper): [VIGIL] Simon Ioannis, diligis me plus his? Domine, tu omnia nosti; tu scis, Domine, quia amo te (Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? Lord you know all things, you know, O Lord, that I do love you). [DAY] Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo Ecclesiam meam (You are Peter and upon this rock will I build my Church).


Stanley Vann (1910-), born in Leicester England, was Assistant Organist at Leicester Cathedral and Chorus Master of Leicester Philharmonic for Sir Henry Wood and Sir Malcolm Sargent; later successively Organist at Chelmsford and Peterborough Cathedrals. He has composed: 8 Masses, 14 Evening Services, many motets, anthems, organ pieces.
