Music Notes:

Happy Liturgical New Year to all! The New Church Year begins
this weekend, and for the next twelve months our Scripture
texts will be found in the Hymnals under the headings "Sunday A"
and "Weekday 1". We begin the eleventh year of use of our hymnals
(blessed and distributed Dec 2000). During the Penitential Season
of Advent, the Kyrie becomes more prominent as we set aside the
Gloria except for feast days (Dec 8 Solemnity of the Immaculate
Conception, Dec 12 Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe).

Introit Antiphon (Graduale Romanum) (Ps 24:1-4)
Ad te levavi animam meam; Deus meus in te confido, non erubescam;
neque irrideant me inimici mei; etenim universi qui te exspectant,
non confundentur. Ps. Vias tuas, Domine, demonstra mihi; et semitas
tuas edoce me. (Unto you have I lifted up my soul. 0 my God, I trust
in you, let me not be put to shame; do not allow my enemies to laugh
at me; for none of those who are awaiting you will be disappointed.
Ps. Make your ways known unto me, 0 Lord, and teach me your paths.)

Offertory Antiphon (Graduale Romanum) (Ps 24:1-3)
Ad te Domine levavi animam meam; Deus meus in te confido, non erubescam;
neque irrideant me inimici mei; etenim universi qui te exspectant, non
confundentur. (Unto you, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul; 0 my God,
I trust in you, let me not be put to shame; do not allow my enemies
to laugh at me; for none of those who are awaiting you will be
disappointed.)

Communion Antiphon (Graduale Romanum) (Ps 83:13)
Dominus dabit benignitatem; et terra nostra dabit fructum sum
(The Lord will bestow his loving kindness; and our land will
yield its fruit).
